AvL Backgammon boards, equal part hardwood and cast resin, are essentially a balance between the natural and the manufactured; raw woodgrains obscured by stripes of acrylic paint, delicate organic matter trapped in a clear resin block. The juxtaposition of these elements provides a visual meditation on the themes of impermanence and our own relationship to the natural order, as well as an appropriately playful backdrop for, well, a game.

Includes one set (30 pieces) of customcut grey and white marble checkers, 4 dice (2 black, 2 white), handmade leather tumblers and doubling cube.
