The Color Rhythm series has been months of exploring how colors and shapes interact with one another. I am seeking to define or understand my own personal color language of sorts. Whether deep diving into compositions of stripes or improvisational shapes and color blocks, I paint with all the colors warm, cool, neutral, neons and find a playful place where I can conversate in color and make sense of the world around me.
My work is a tribute to textiles and freeform, improvisational quilting, a tradition I’ve always admired. Like a memory quilt, with its unpredictable stacking of shapes, materials, and colors, my pieces reflect on the places I explored as a child, and the people and adventures that populate my past.
