The gold leaf wood frame is a lovely finishing touch for this contemporary painting.
The Flemish Renaissance, Mughal portraiture, Classicism and Cubism are primary references for my work. The subject always begins in the representational form with a contrasting background. Through layers of paint and glazing, the work evolves into the abstract or remains representational. Although divergent in process, each painting unfolds from a deeply intuitive, personal and imaginative narrative. Whether portrait, figurative, still life or landscape, the true subject is always; beauty, form, color and spacial relationships.;
